The first translation into English of the very scarce, complete ten-volume supplement to Gerard van Loon’s Beschryving Der Nederlandsche Historipenningen. It was originally published between 1822 and 1869 by the Second Section of the Royal Dutch Institute of Science, Literature and Fine Arts. The original engravings are wonderfully reproduced and supplemented with additional color plates photographically illustrating the medals. To this day it is still the standard reference on 899 historical medals issued between 1716 and 1806.
