Gelderland
In medieval times the most important ducal mints of Guelders were in Arnhem and Nijmegen. Charles V concentrated the Burgundian-Dutch minting for the region in Nijmegen. In 1577 the States of Gelderland took over the administration of the Nijmegen mint, which thereby became a provincial mint. Six years later the mint was relocated to Harderwijk due to the threat of war, where it remained in commission until 1802.
