Juliana

In response to the announced devaluation (1949) of the Dutch guilder several reforms were implemented. Among other things the new silver guilders and 2½ guilders were smaller and thinner than those of Wilhelmina. In 1966-1967 the silver value of these denominations rose above the nominal value. As a result a new coinage act was passed, and all silver coinage was replaced with nickel.
