Hans werkte onder andere bij veilinghuis Sotheby’s en het voormalige Geldmuseum. Van 2011 tot begin 2016 was hij Hoofd van de afdeling Numismatiek bij de Koninklijke Nederlandse Munt in Utrecht. Hans is één van de slechts drie geregistreerde TMV taxateurs van Nederland op het gebied van de numismatiek en heeft daarmee aangetoond over zeer gedegen theoretische en praktische kennis te beschikken.
